The Order: Witches and Alchemists. Transfers trough the 'X' chromosome, only shows it's full potential when there is a double chromosome. Males can show some magic, but it's always watered down --this are considered the higher ranking Alchemists, alongside with those who made important discoveries or contributions to the order.  Witches aren't bought and you can't 'hire' them; they choose you based on your potential and or amazed power, and their earnings are the benefits that your increasing power can bring them. A witch's offering can be refused, but people rarely do (& depending on the witch who offered, the consecuences can run from a nasty cold to a public fall from grace. Maybe even death. Alchemists, on the other hand, do buy their services. Very high prices some times. Those who have a witch tend to also have one or more alchemists at their command.
